Description: GERMAN MUSICAL CUCKOO CLOCKNuremberg Church of Our Lady You are bidding on one of the rarest clocks ever created by Emil Schmechenbecher. He was inspired by the famous animated, musical Glochenspiel clock at the Church of Our Lady in Nuremberg, Germany. The clock case is made of wood with beautiful hand painting to look very much like the old church. The dial is on the top below a round brass medallion, with a blue backdrop, fancy gold tone Roman numerals and matching gold color metal hands. The time is regulated by turning the knob on the door below. The clock is run by a weight driven "Regula" movement bearing the Schmechenbecher name. The chains need to be pulled once a day to wind the clock, music, and animation. The King is on his throne in the middle between 2 round doorways, and six lords parade round him as the music box plays the Westminster Chime, and the two guards on either side of the platform raise their horns to blow. Unfortunately, the guards' arms with the horns have come apart. One arm with the horn is intact and can be reattached. The other arm is broken, but the arm and horn are there. Please see pictures for details. The clock is in working order and comes with original eagle pendulum and 3 original gold weights. Clock runs and keeps time, bell chimes and music plays with animation. CLOCK IS SOLD AS IS, NEEDING RESTORATION - NO RETURN & NO REFUND. Size - 15" H x 11.25" W x 6" D Shipping: $70
