Description: This is a rare German Classical Acoustic Harp Guitar. The guitar has a replaced label that reads "Wiroso-Röthner Gitarre". I was informed that the guitar is from 1907, but that is not anywhere on the label. It is possible the original label had this date on it. Regardless of the label, the guitar does have a circa 1910 age. This is a fantastic instrument. It is a "played" instrument, showing signs of wear and love. That being said, it is in really good condition, it plays well, and has a warm feeling/tone. When played, the guitar has a bit of an "aura" to it, where the harp side picks up on the harmonics of the guitar side. There are various repairs, crack repairs, etc. but all of the guitar is original. It has really interesting features, including:Flame maple necks - guitar side is a 5-piece neck - they are joined togetherAcorn-style rosewood bridge9-course harp tunersDouble bound inlaid sound holeBrazilian rosewood binding along the sides (top and bottom edges)Pass-through, mandolin style, Brazilian rosewood string bridge along the lower out edge (not in use currently - see picture)The fingerboard on the guitar side was removed and a new rosewood layer placed between the fingerboard and neck, adding about 1/8" to improve the action. This is a reversible restoration if another approach to improving the action is eventually desired. The bridge has minor glue lifting on the lower-bout side (as seen in picture), but is not an issue in my opinion. It has been this way for a long time. The top board, sides and back have minor crack repairs, and all are stable and well done. The harp part of the guitar is in great condition with the original 9-course tuners. The strings have not been replaced too recently, but are in good-enough playing condition.
