Russell, the Author of ‘Collections and Recollections’ and with marbled endpapers. George William Erskine Russell (1853–1919), known as George W. E. Russell, was a British biographer, memoirist and Liberal M.P. 1880-1895. It was published by Bernhard Tauchnitz, Leipzig, in 1903 and is the Copyright Edition. These papers, which appeared in the “Cornhill Magazine” are reproduced by the kind permission of Mr. Reginald Smith, K.C. The book measures 6.3 inches x 4.75 inches and has 287 pages, which are gilt edged to the top rims. The book is in good neat condition for its age, with minor wear and is a little grubby/faded to the cloth hardback cover, scuffs to the gilding on the top rims with a previous owner’s smart privately printed book-plate, and a torn top corner (loss) at the front, a little light foxing near the covers, and ink or pencil writings/markings in the book. The binding is good with no loose or missing pages. There is no dust-jacket. A wonderful little vintage edition.
