George Foster, Reds & Mets, 4 card Lot 4, 37+ yrs old, Nr Mint or better!

Description: This is a 4 card lot of former great and World Series Champion, George Foster. All cards in this lot are different and they are all 37 years old or more! Foster was an outfielder from 1969 through 1986, most notably a middle of the lineup force for the Cincinnati "Big Red Machine" Reds that won four National League pennants and two World Series championships between 1970 and 1976. Foster also played for the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets. Foster was a five-time All-Star and he was one of the most feared right-handed sluggers of his era, leading the National League in home runs in 1977 and 1978, and in RBIs in 1976, 1977, and 1978. He won the National League's MVP Award in 1977. Foster had one of the all-time great seasons in 1977. In September Foster hit his fiftieth home run of the season making him the first player since Willie Mays in 1965 to hit fifty in a season. No player hit 50 HR again until Cecil Fielder hit 51 home runs in 1990. At the time, Foster was just the 10th player in major league history to hit 50 HR in a season. In 1977 Foster hit 52 HR and had 149 RBIs. He also led the NL in slugging percentage (.631), runs scored (124) and total bases (388). Between 1976 and 1978 Foster amassed 121 HR and an amazing 390 RBI's! In his career, Foster compiled a .274 batting average with 986 runs, 307 doubles, 47 triples, 348 home runs, 1,239 Runs batted in, 666 walks and a .480 slugging percentage. In 2003, Foster was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. As was the case in those days, some cards may be off center but none will be miscut, meaning the inner frame of the photo will NOT touch the card edge. Currently, I have raw and graded baseball cards available dating back to the late 50's and raw football, basketball and hockey from the early to mid-70's in varying condition. To help reduce shipping costs, unless instructed otherwise, these cards will be shipped in a Plain White Envelope (PWE). If requested by the buyer, shipping in a small padded envelope will cost $4. Shipping fees listed are for delivery within the continental 48 states of the USA using USPS. International rates will vary and will charged extra, with the exact amount to be determined at the time of purchase. Shipments are typically mailed twice per week, on Saturdays and once during midweek. If you need an item with expedited shipping please notify me, while there is no guarantees that I'll be able to expedite the item(s), I will do my best to accommodate your request. Combined shipping is available and is based on the following: a) The buyer will pay the first or highest shipping fee and add $1.00 for each additional single graded card or $0.25 for each additional raw, ungraded, card. b) If unless the value is more than $200, I will insure the package through USPS, in which case the shipping costs may be more.
