Description: This is one of a group of five artifacts that I purchased years ago from a leading London antiquities dealer, Apollo Antiquities, which had been in business for decades across the street from the British museum. This piece is a Copper Age bowl from the western Near East area, what will become Israel, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. The Chalcolithic, or copper age, comes right before the bronze age, so this is a very old piece of pottery indeed. And you can see that when you study it’s surface, what a remarkable patina it has! it would take thousands of years to craft on that armor-like coating of silicate clay and carbonate cement. This has been in contact with desert soil and the occasional flood for a very long time. The price for this piece is $209 and includes shipping. This is a hard to find piece when genuine. I have a personal guarantee when it comes to my artifacts: if it is ever held that what I have sold is not what I have said that that it is, return it and I will give you back double your money. I stand behind what I collect and what I sell.
