Description: General Idea, Putti, 1993, AA Bronson, AIDS, seal soap About this Item: General Idea’s Putti was a multiple produced by General Idea in 1993. The seal soap was found at a pharmacy by one of the member’s mothers and noticing its resemblance to the artists’ installation ‘Fin de siècle’, she bought a few as gifts. General Idea then contacted the supplier to buy the remaining stock and printed pulp board bases for each to sit on. Of the 10,000 produced, very few remain for sale today. Toronto: Self-published, 1993. First edition. Coaster 3-1/2 inches in diameter (8.5 cm). Soap; about 2 inches long (5cm). Texts in English. Found seal-shaped soap on printed pulp board. Condition: Good. The coaster is darkened and stained. The soap has darkened. It looks like it had pride-of-place in someone’s guest bathroom. The pictures show the actual items you receive.
