Description: Extremely rare yearbook 1954 The Tower from Morris High School in the Bronx, NY. The original owner of this book (who also went on to accomplish much) was friends with Colin Powell and got his signature. Colin Powell may be pictured in other places of the book besides the portrait but am not sure. He is mentioned again in the separate flyer for commencement exercises and that he earned the silver pin for distinguished service from the Morris Service League. Just like Colin Powell recounted in his autobiography, he was in a neighborhood of mostly Jewish people with a few African Americans as well. The book is in good condition with a few pages that have separated from the binder but it is all complete. This item is unique and has historical value, I wasn’t able to find another for sale so am starting with a high starting bid and am open to negotiating—thank you so much. General Colin Powell was a highly respected American military leader and statesman. He served as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the Gulf War and later as the U.S. Secretary of State under President George W. Bush. Powell passed away on October 18, 2021. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and was a great speaker and writer.
