Description: FULPER Musical Pottery Jug Silver Overlay Flambe Chinese Blue/Brn Glaze Plays "How Dry I Am" when the jug is lifted (please listen to the video). Winds and plays well. The pottery was made by the Fulper Pottery Studio, the glaze is gorgeous in a rich Chinese blue and brown. Some say the music boxes were installed by the Ritz Import & Export Corporation of Ney York City. The stopper and jug is overlaid with Silver over Copper in a leaf and floral pattern. The silver portions have been lightly polished to remove the surface tarnish while leaving the gorgeous silver toning and patina. We would tend to display it without the stopper - we think it shows better that way and since it may fall out when the curious (your brother in law) turns it over :-) Nice condition, very clean, one nick on the base, a tiny bit of the copper under the silver shows here and there and the stopper shows some signs of usage (also cork has a bit of glue on it) but no other cracks, chips or repairs, typical crazing. Typical factory manufacturing artifacts (glaze skips, base ring grinding artifacts etc). Measures approx: 10 1/2" H x 6" D x 6 1/2" W.
