The 1/4" jack also allows you to use standard high quality cables important when dealing with piezo pickups.The body of the instrument follows traditional violin construction methods and thus feels and plays very naturally.Even though the violin could be plugged into an amp directly, piezo pickups always benefit from piezo specific preamps like the Schatten Design Mini-Pre or the K&K Sound Pure Preamp that will match the impedance of the piezo pickup to the impedance of the amp resulting in a better overall sound quality. Preamp is not included in this offer.That said, the plugged-in sound of the violin is mellow and natural which is unique for electric violins. Unplugged the instrument still has a decent and surprisingly powerful voice given that there are no sound holes.
