Description: This is an original 1954 French National Railroads (Societe Nationale Des Chemins De Fer Francais or S.N.C.F.) poster. The French travel poster ("For traveling in France the railway is the right way"; "Visit France by train"; "Discover France by train") made by the S.N.C.F to encourage travel by the French National Railroad. Each poster features a wonderful image or art of one of the many locations that the railroad visits. The SNCF was founded in 1938 with the nationalization of France's main railway companies. The poster was never folded and had only the most minor of border defects. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great!Please note...the white in this poster and border is a true white. The lighting made it look a little off when I took the photo.
