Description: The French Lines SS Ile De France sailed for this company from 1927 until 1958, she was scrapped in 1959. This lot includes: - This envelope is taped onto a backing which is inside of it. It has American postage, and was mailed via the Ile De France in 1934, to Wolkowysk, Poland (present day Belarus due to border change after WW2). It measures approximately 4 1/8 x 7 1/4 inches. No contents of the envelope but has stamps and postmarks. This comes from the estate of a cruise ship aficionado who enjoyed cruise ships and also collected items. According to receipts many of these items were bought at antique stores in the 1990's, and have been kept safe in plastic envelopes within a binder, and inside of a trunk ever since. They were carefully catalogued into sections.
