Description: This is a bronze sculpture done by Antonin Mercie in the late nineteenth century. It is a highly detailed bronze sculpture with a beautiful patina. The sculpture is after the work of Jean Boulogne who created a marble sculpture of this subject between 1579 and 1583. The figures are situated on a bed of rocks. The approximate height of this bronze is 18.25”. The approximate measurement of the base is 5” in width and 6” in length. The bronze is signed Mercie as seen in the pictures. There are some minor blemishes ( which we did not try to clean) and a few hardly visible scratches. Wear is consistent with the statuary’s age.
