Description: DETAILS: Original pinback button issued by the Free Los Siete De La Reza Legal Defense Fund. Circa 1969. Measures 1 1/4" inches. Rare. In 1969, six young Latino men in San Francisco’s Mission District were arrested for allegedly killing a police officer, a campaign—Free Los Siete de la Raza (Free the People’s Seven)—erupted to clear their names. It galvanized the radical left wing groups in the Bay area with the Black Panther Party and the SDS throwing their full support to mobilize people to gain the release of the young men who were imprisoned under exceptionally harsh conditions. They were acquitted of all charges in 1970. GUARANTEE: We offer a lifetime guarantee on all of our items to be authentic originals issued by the organization stated.
