Description: Here is an unusual, unique collection of documents. These came from an estate sale in Huntsville Alabama. They appear to be the personal collections of Fred B. Simpson, who was the Madison County Alabama DA from 1969-81, and a criminal lawyer in Huntsville Alabama 25 years after that. He wrote 3 books about local history. He passed away in 2014. I don't know if these came from his estate or not. But they appear to be possibly work toward 3 future books? or just a record of events. Each is very nicely bound in large hardcovers that in very nice condition. Pages are 8.5 x 11 inches. Vol A: "The Prosecutor and the Press - A Collection of News Articles, Volume 10 - 1978, of 12 volumes. Edited by Fred B. Simpson. Looks like there was probably a volume for each year that he was the DA, and this is for the year 1978. As he states on the first page: "New articles were collected and preserved because of the necessity to be aware of the changing positions of the press and to protect myself"..."Hopefully these volumes will be helpful to someone in the future interested in the events of this time period..."Contains 276 numbered pages with very neatly pasted on newspaper clippings, plus 15 pages of index for this volume at the end.Dark red/gold hardcover is very nice. Vol B: "The Attorney and the Press - A Collection of News Articles 1993 1994 1995" Edited by Fred B. Simpson. 322 numbered pages of similarly nicely pasted newspaper clippings, plus 28 pages of index. Blue hardcover is very nice. Vol C: "Speaking Politically - A Collection of Speeches" Edited by Fred B. Simpson. Approximately 275 single sided pages of typed or photocopied material. The first speech look like one he have to a Montevallo High graduation class. Dark blue/gold hardcover is very nice. D1945
