Description: This lamp was just appraised by an Antiques Roadshow at the Maryland zoo (last picture) where they were recording for next season. It was given a estimated value of $ 4,000-6,000. This due to fact it is a numbered lamp with the foundation tag on bottom indicating production number. Original 1994 Frank Loyd Wright Foundation limited edition Yamagiwa Midway lamp. This is not a later reproduction. It is number 55 sold in US market. 1-10 are locked up in foundations vault. Below is a copy of the correspondence I had with Mr. Takahashi. He is with Yamagiwa Sales and Marketing in Japan. There is a slight dent on one of the corners. Please look at pictures. It comes from an estate sale where the previous owner was a Frank Loyd Wright collector. This is used and has minor scuffs that are not too noticeable. This is expected due its age and the fact it was used and stored away. It is a rare lamp due to limited editions produced in 1993-1994 FREE Shipping USA ONLY Thank you for your inquiry. I am Kumiko, who is an international sales of Yamagiwa. Regarding to your question about MIDWAY of FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT ( FLW) , please see the below explanation. , In February 1994, 12 styles of Lightings from the FLW lighting series manufactured by YAMAGIWA were announced at the MoMA Museum of Modern Art, New York. “MIDWAY” series is also included in it. Products that we manufactured under license have a plate that indicates that they are officially approved by the Wright Foundation. The serial number is engraved on this plate. The serial number is divided into Japan, Europe, and America, and 00065 is the 55th unit sold in the United States (1 to 10 are in Foundation storage). Unfortunately Production numbers cannot be disclosed. For the FLW lighting series seen in the market, the plate with this serial number is proof of whether it is an officially licensed product. The MIDWAY was discontinued after that, but it was remanufactured for the Japanese market a few years ago with some changes to the specifications. n https://www.Yamagiwa.co.jp/products/322s7432/ Wright designs often use a red color square called "Cherokee Red". Some of the TALIESIN series sold by YAMAGIWA use Cherokee Red, but some do not. image003.jpg Hope this explanation helps you.
