Description: This coin is very rare. Before 1950, 50 Francs was a paper bank note. 1950 was the first year that the 50 Franc coin was minted, and only 600,000 were made in that first year compared to 68 million (>100 times more) in 1951. This coin has not been cleaned. The color is a pretty standard brown for an aluminum bronze coin of this age. The true color is best seen in the last photo. I am not a professional, but would personally grade this coin as XF condition. I have taken photos of the front and back under 3 very different lighting conditions (incandescent, halogen and sunlight) as attached. These were taken with an iPhone with no color filters applied. There is very little evidence of wear. The details are quite good, even on high spots, including the hair piece. The coin will ship in a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope, insured to the value paid, with full tracking.
