Framed Print James A.M. Whistler Black Lion Wharf 1859

Description: A nice print of the Black Lion Wharf, an etching by artist James A.M. Whistler. This is not an original print from the etching, but is a print of a print made in Germany in 1946 - 1947. Whistler's signature and the date 1859 were in the original etching and appear in the print. The margin around the print has a little foxing, but the print is in excellent vintage condition. The frame is a wood and has gold colored trim at the glass and is in good condition with just minor wear, and the matting, dust cover and hanging hardware are also in good condition. (see photos). The frame is 13-1/2" X 10-1/2" with the print area being 7" X 4-1/2". The print is in excellent condition showing no wear or fading. Note: Be sure to see all of the photos as they are considered a part of this description (use the zoom tool), and ask questions for anything you don't see because once shipped, this frame and print cannot be returned or refunded. There is a hand written note on the back of the frame that says "Original Etching purchased in Germany in 1946 - 47", however this print has been evaluated and it is not a print directly off of the original etching. It is a very good quality print from a print, and this is a beautiful vintage work of art.
