Farragut (1801–1870) was an American admiral who was Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Navy during the Civil War. He is best remembered for his order given at the Battle of Mobile Bay: “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.” This is a large Framed piece under glass is Ready to hang. Includes a photo of the admiral, which appears to be a cabinet card. But in fact it's a litho of a Photo of Him. At the bottom of the frame Is an original letter signed by the Admiral. And dated 1864. Authenticated on the back by Memorabilia, Ltd.
