Description: This antique child’s book is titled “Four Footed Folk”, “Or The Children of the Farm and Forest”. The author is Elizabeth Gordon. There is no copyright date, publisher or illustrator listed in the book, so perhaps it is a 1st Edition from around 1914 or earlier and maybe self-published. Later identical copies are copyright 1914, by Abingdon Press with Laurie Stout as the illustrator. The book 44 pages of wonderful color illustrations of farm or forest animals on each page along with a short poem about each animal. The binding is tight and the book has minor damage to the cover of the spine along with staining and wear one would expect from a book of this age. There is a gift inscription on the first page dated 1928. The book comes with the original box which has minor damage, pencil writing on the bottom along with wear and staining consistent with its age.
