Description: This is a Fostoria no. 308 Peg (OMN) oil lamp with a heavy drape pattern that was produced ca. 1904. You will sometimes see this offered as a "Mary" lamp but that lamp came with a specific chimney whereas the 308 was sold with only a collar & base that could have the burner and chimney of the seller's choice added. The base is original as shown in the 1904 Fostoria "Fine Decorated Lamps" catalog. The burner is an attractive Queen Anne style that we have not been able to identify. The lamp stands 17" (43.2 cm) tall with the chimney, and 9-5/8" (24.4 cm) tall to the top of the burner. The font measures approximately 4-3/4" (12.1 cm) in diameter at its widest and the base measures 5" (12.7 cm) long per side. The piece is in excellent condition without chips, flea bites, scratches, or staining. The wick knob turns easily. We are selling this from our own collection but we are not oil lamp experts.
