Description: This is an original handcolored copper plate engraving, from Flora Londinensis, published by William Curtis, discribing the plant life in the London region, in the 18th century. The handcolored engravings were done by some of the finest botanical artists, of the day, including such artists as, James Sowerby, Francis Sansom and William Kilburn. This engraving is notplate signed, but believe it’s from the first edition, titled Poterium Sanguiserba, with the plate marks measuring 14.75”x 8.5”, printed on hand made watermarked paper, that canbe seen in one of the photos. It’s in great condition, and have listed other botanical, handcolored engravings, make an offer on a few and save on shipping. Many are matted and ready for framing, so will be shipped flat.
