Description: The Manta Flemish Tapestry Size: 26" H x 50" W or 70cm x 140cm UPC: 609456480536 DESCRIPTION Capture elegance and sophistication in any room of your home with Belgium-woven tapestry wall hangings. This tapestry was handwoven in Belgium and bought in Florence by my mother in the early 2000’s. It is a reproduction of a fresco painted in 1420 in the sala baronale of the Castello della Manta, Saluzzo, Italy by the Master of La Manta, an anonymous painter. The series includes depictions of nine historical, scriptural and legendary personages who personify the ideals of chivalry as were established in the Middle Ages and their female counterparts. The best known character Godfrey of Bouillon who led the first Crusade from 1096 till 1099. He was proclaimed King of Jerusalem in 1100. I’m calling it new because it was hung once in a smoke free home with no direct sunlight and is in pristine condition.
