Description: "My first baby" from 1979 Orson Scott Card's first novel, first edition This is the Holy Grail for serious collectors of Orson Scott Card -- his first ever published novel -- signed, inscribed and fondly described as "My first baby" on the title page. Book is in good used condition with a crease to the front cover, stain to the rear cover, a crease to the spine and other signs of prior use. There is a bookstore stamp to the inside front cover and a faint date stamp -- April 27 1979 -- only 3 months after the book was released. It is a soft cover ACE FIRST PRINTING dated January 1979, nearly a full year before the more common Baronet edition issued in November 1979. Capitol was later released in other softcover editions, but never published as a hardcover volume. Orson Scott Card has won numerous awards during his many years as an author, including the Nebula and Hugo Awards and has sold millions of books in many different languages. His best known works include Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead. This unique First Edition book is signed, inscribed and lined on the title page: "To Nathan --My first baby . . ."[Signed with his iconic signature] We have dozens of other collector-quality science fiction and fantasy novels in our Ebay store, and would be pleased to combine shipping to save you money.
