Description: Limited edition. 1 of 2500. In excellent condition. Eugene V. Connett 3rd attended St Paul's School, Concord, N. H., 1902-1908. He graduated from Princeton 1912, Litt. B.; entered the hat business 1912; became vice president and left when business was liquidated in 1925. He became vice president of the J. N. Johnston Inc. printers. Established the Derrydale Press 1927 and closed it in 1942 to become Deputy State Highway Commissioner of New Jersey during the war. In 1947 he became head of the sporting book division of D. Van Nostrand Co. Inc. from which he retired on Dec. 31, 1963. He edited and published 250 books on sport during his publishing career. He is a member of Angler's Club of New York - President for two terms - Grolier Club, Princeton Club, New York Yacht Club, Bellport Bay Yacht Club (Commodore for two terms, Dutch Treat Club and Collectors Club of New York (Board of Governors one term). He has been author of ten books on sport. He served in Chemical Warfare Service as Sgt. 1/c in World War I. Member of the Sons of the American Revolution by descent from Nathaniel Brewer, Mass, Solomon Brecount, Samuel M Rutan and Samuel Force of New Jersey. He has presented a complete collection of all books he published to Princeton where they are given a special room in the University Library."
