Finely carved scroll and accurately inlaid purfling, turning into floral ornaments on the 1-piece maple back. This beautiful violin shows no open cracks or open seams, but surely some marks in its old varnish. The table is medium to fine grained spruce. The instrument has been checked by our luthiers and checked by our violin player on playability. In our workshop it received new setup with new ebony pegs, a new bridge, new ebony chinrest, new ebony tailpiece, new soundpost and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin! Old French master violin in immediate playing condition!
