Description: This is a beautiful and impressionistic Fine Antique Old Cowboy Horse Western Americana Oil Painting on canvas, depicting several cattle rustlers attempting to subdue several steers with lassos, while on horseback. In the distance, a large heard of cattle, several cowboys, a bucolic mountainous landscape and enchanting blue skies and cloud cover can be seen. Signed: "Thomas H. Frese" in the lower right corner. I could not find much information on this artist, aside from the fact that he was a Monterey, California resident in 1940 and born in 1886. Perhaps you know more about him or his work? This piece is approximately 26 3/4 x 30 3/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 24 x 28 inches. This piece likely dates to the 1940's - early 1950's. Good condition for age, with some light scuffing and edge wear to the vintage wooden frame. Acquired from an old estate in Yucaipa, California.
