Description: This is a FINE 19TH AMERICAN Old Original Finish FOLK ART DOCUMENT or Jewel BOX. THE ENTIRE BOX IS IN GOOD CONDITION. THE BOX ITSELF IS NEAT BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN ADAPTED FROM A SLIDE LID CANDLE BOX.. IT STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL HINGES but THE Key mechanism has been replaced with a push latch. The original finish shows super patina. There is some minor edge and rim wear as shown in the photos and are added for complete condition disclosure (see photos). It could use a wax which would hide the scratches. The size is wonderful, it measures 10” x 7” x near 3.5” tall Typical wear associated with the age of the item. Please see all photos.o
