Description: Fighters in Service: Attack and Training Aircraft Since 1960; 1st American Ed. Kenneth Munson began developing the Pocket Encyclopedia of World Aircraft in 1966. In 1972, the first American volume was released, covering (as the title indicates) Fighters in Service: Attack and Training Aircraft Since 1960. This edition is beautifully illustrated with full-color plates depicting 80 aircraft, including recognizable entries like the F-14A Tomcat and MiG 23 as seen in the first Top Gun movie (and a variety of 1980s-era knock-offs *cough*IronEagle*cough*). This copy is in excellent condition, with minimal shelf wear, straight corners, and a tight binding. The unclipped dust jacket is in very good condition with vibrant colors. There is a 1.5" tear at the top left front of the jacket as well as some other minor stress points, but overall it holds together very well and appears near-new. There is a contemporaneous price sticker in the upper right of the front cover which I've left in place. All books are individually evaluated. Photos are of the actual book.
