It also stayed very compact even after many years. The observation was then duplicated and the result is a compact grower that fruits heavily. I have planted a few to see how they do. I would imagine that this variety should be hardy down to zone 5. I would advise providing protection its first few years during winter. It is a common fig and does not require pollination.
