Description: RARE, HARD TO FIND MCM vintage enamelware or enamel ware Snack Set No. 50, "For Serving Popcorn, Pretzels, Candy, Nuts” was manufactured by The U.S. Line, U.S. Manufacturing Corp. of Decatur, Illinois. It was designed to match the most popular dish colors and designs of the times, Fiesta Ware by Homer Laughlin. In this set, I’m including 2 large Poppy red-orange serving bowls and 4 smaller bowls—Poppy, Daffodil, I think Lapis and maybe Mulberry, some of the GO-ALONG colors to FIESTA WARE. The large tin ware bowl measures about 11" in diameter and 4 3/8" high. The small bowls measure approximately 5 3/4" in diameter and are 2 1/2" high. This metalware set was is circa 1940s or 1950s. All the bowls feature Fiesta style horizontal rings. Here are examples of this set’s rarity: Worthpoint reports one set sold in 2013 and one in 2016. Etsy had 7 small bowls, some really damaged, for $155. My set is showing up on the Internet on other sites too. As shown in photos, one of the large bowls is much more worn than the other. Of the small bowls, the purple is most worn. All have some scratches and chipped paint because they were lovingly used for years. The resulting vintage patina is charming. Overall, for their age and normal usage, this set is in nice condition. See photos carefully. Shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. The large bowls are quite heavy.
