Description: Fenton GOLD CREST 6" CONE VASE Circa Probably in the 1940's REDUCED FOR FINAL CLEARANCE WAS $39.50 A very nice piece to add to your collection that is almost 80 years old now and with FREE shipping as described below, a great value too. This vase is measuring about 6-1/4 inches tall and is about 5-1/2 inches across the top. It is sometimes referred to as being a "Cone Vase" or a "Trumpet Vase". I prefer the Cone Vase description because that is what it looks like, AN ICE CREAM CONE. The larger vases to me are the Trumpet Vases (8-10 inch tall ones that is to say). I do believe this is a piece that was made in the 1940's due to the coloring of the milk glass which is not true while milk glass but a bit tinted like the coloring of skim milk. The vases that were made in the 1960's would have been made with a more WHOLE MILK coloring. The gold cresting on this piece is also not as bright as the 1960's gold crest would have been. Of course, early pieces of Fenton were not marked with an embossed Fenton stamp and that is because Fenton didn't start to mark their pieces that way until the 1970's. There are no chips, cracks or repairs and also noted is that there is NO water marks or calcium building up inside the vase which is common on vases that have been used and not cleaned properly. Now, I have 3 pictures of the vase standing in the upright position that appear to be the same pictures, but what I have done is turned the vase slightly each time to give you a look at all the cresting on each side. Because it is even cresting, it appears to be duplicate pictures but they are not. PLEASE NOTE: Due to differences in Computer Monitors, resolution settings, color settings, and lighting available when taking the picture there of, the picture may not represent the true color of the actual piece you receive. We do the best we can to duplicate the actual picture to the actual piece that we are showing in this listing, however there are too many variables that we can not control.
