Description: Up for sale is a four issue lot featuring characters from the Fantastic Four Universe, including Fantastic Four (1998) Issue #23, Fantastic Force (1994) Issues #1, Thing (1983) Issue #23, and Gladiator vs. Supreme (1997) Issue #1. The Fantastic Four are a superhero team appearing in the Marvel Universe. The group debuted in The Fantastic Four #1 (1961). The Fantastic Four was the first superhero team created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby. The team is made up of Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards), a scientific genius and the leader of the group, who can stretch his body into incredible lengths; the Invisible Woman (Susan "Sue" Storm), who can render herself invisible and project powerful force fields; the Human Torch (Johnny Storm), who can generate flames, surround himself with them and fly; and the Thing (Ben Grimm), who possesses superhuman strength and endurance due to the nature of his stone-like flesh. The team is also well known for its introduction to many main Marvel characters, including the Black Panther, the Silver Surfer, Galactus, the Inhumans, the sea-dwelling prince Namor, and Gladiator of the alien Shi'ar Imperial Guard. After many adventures as the Fantastic Four, Reed married Sue, as shown in Fantastic Four Annual #3 (1965). Not long after that, they had their first child, Franklin Richards (Fantastic Four Annual #6 (1968)). The Fantastic Four have been adapted into other media, including four animated series and four live-action films. The original 1963 comic series ran for 416 issues. In 1996, the series was relaunched with vol. 2, #1 as part of the "Heroes Reborn" crossover story arc. Following the end of that universe, Fantastic Four was relaunched with vol. 3, #1 in 1998.In 1983, Marvel decided to give the Thing his own series, after the cancellation of Marvel Two-In-One, which had starred the Thing and run for 100 issues. This new series ran for 36 issues. This series tied into the original Secret Wars series. In 1994, Marvel launched a series called Fantastic Force, which was a superteam led by Franklin Richards, going by the name of Psi-Lord. This series would last for 18 issues. As mentioned above, this listing is for Fantastic Four (1998) Issues #23, Fantastic Force (1994) Issue #1, The Thing (1983) Issue #23, and the Gladiator vs. Supreme (1997) Issue #1.
