Description: Offering an antique Disston D-16 hand saw with a 13/16" " Disston PHILA " medallion that dates this saw to 1917-1940. It is being sold in as-found condition. Features: Length: 26-1/2 inches long total, 23" x 4-3/4" blade TPI: 5Rivets: 4 Handle: No.16 hardwood let-in handle with chip-relief wheat design The saw is in great shape, and there are plenty of pictures for you to decide yourself. It would be a great saw to restore. According to the Disstonian Institute website, Disston used this style 13/16" PHILA medallion between 1917-1940. (see last few pictures for more info). Based on the attached information, it looks to be a No.16, and this saw was made up until 1928. Thus, with the medallion being used since 1917, it seems this saw was made between 1917-1928. Included are pictures of a typical No. 16 from that era. These are my findings, but please do your own research to confirm. The Disstonian Institue is a great resource for that. And if I have anything wrong, please let me know, as I try to do my best to correctly represent what I am selling. Fast shipping...thanks for looking!
