Description: F0384 Sichuan Embroidery Art Panels. Satin and Silk. Framed. Mid-1900s. Chengdu Sichuan Province. China There are four major styles of silk art embroidery with Sichuan (Shu Xiu) being the oldest. The emphasis - for this style - is on even stitching, coloration and local creativity. These are exquisite pieces that could be re-framed or left "as is" to hang and enjoy. I really like their antique gold frame.Circa mid-1900s and still in excellent condition. The detail is stunning. Composition: Satin with silk threads. Wood frame with glass.Overall: 22.5β x 9.75β. Figures are about 10β tall. I have been a collector for over 60 years and have spent this time searching for the most unique, wonderous and culturally-significant pieces from far off places like Africa, Middle East, South & Southeast Asia, Central & South America and the Oceania Islands. Most were acquired from the country of origin and/or from avid collectors. All that I know about the item - through provenance or my own research - is shown in the listing. Itβs now time for me to thin out my collection. I am sure you will enjoy this item and its history as much as I have.
