The delicate but unsettling 'Visible Breath' is dominated by the droning, otherworldly brass of Stewart Dempster (trombone), Julian Priester (trombone) and Cuong Vu (trumpet), while 'Monadology' feels like it could be lifted from the soundtrack of a 60s outsider thriller, with Taina Karr's oboe, Timb Harris's violin and Eyvind Kang's viola - underlined by the wordless vocalisations of Jessika Kenney - iterating its insistent, suspenseful melody.
