Description: I was and still am an avid reader, especially interested in history, film, and current events, and this is from my book collection. The first edition of this book was published by TIME in 1990, and this second edition updates the final chapter of the book to include new photographs from the 1990's.The very first photograph shown is the first known photograph of a human being by Daguerre in 1839. The book is divided into sections which reflect the influence of societal advances on the subjects pursued by photojournalists. (see Table of Contents - photo 9). There are pages covering Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Weegee, Margaret Bourke-White, and Dorothea Lange, among others. Many images are of war and of stark realities that people face - all are a true "snapshot" of time(see photo#'s 10&11). There are no tears, marks, nor writing, no "foxing" or browning, nothing to remark on other than the wear on the ends of the dust jacket around the binding (see photo#'s 7&8).
