Description: PUT THIS IN AN ACRYLIC CUBE TO DISPLAY YOUR PASSION FOR COLLECTING AND GET THAT NOSTALGIC FEELING EVERYTIME YOU GLANCE AT IT. IT''s ALMOST LIKE YOU JUST CAME BACK FROM THE GROCERY STORE WITH A BOX OF TWINKIES BACK IN 1978. WHAT OTHER COLLECTIBLE CAN MAKE THAT STATEMENT? How many of us actually display are baseball cards? Probably, not many because in all honesty it doesn't look that appealing, but here we have a game changer. Likely one of the rarest Steve Carlton cards in existence!!! Unless I'm missing something according to the PSA pop reports no COMPLETE BOXES have been graded which attests to the rarity of this box. 1976 through 1979 Hostess complete boxes are very rare and don't be fooled by the abundance of 1975 Hostess complete boxes on the market because from research I did a few years ago a Hostess worker evidently walked out of a Hostess warehouse with pallets of unused boxes back in the 70's which is likely the reason why I've seen the market flooded with 1975 complete boxes over the past ten years. Furthermore, I rarely see 1975 complete boxes with price tags or price stamps on them which of course likely means that they never came from a grocery store, but instead from a hoard that left the factory. I call 1975 Hostess set the 1986 Topps set where in both scenarios massive saturation took place. COMPLETE HOSTESS BOXES ARE VERY RARE AND ARGUABLY THE EQUIVALENT OF UNOPENED TOPPS WAX BOXES!! PUT THIS NEXT TO A CUTOUT PANEL OR AN INDIVIDUAL STEVE CARLTON AND NO COMPARISON. Furthermore, very few complete boxes have survived which is evidenced by the PSA reports and the amount on ebay relative to individual Hostess cards and cut out panels, ARE THERE ANY STEVE CARLTON CARDS IN EXISTENCE THAT COME CLOSE TO WHAT IS BEING AUCTIONED HERE IN TERMS OF RARITY AND THAT AWE FEEL WHEN YOU FIRST SEE IT? YES, IF YOU ARE A STEVE CARLTON COLLECTOR YOU CAN GO AND OWN WHAT EVERY OTHER PERSON AND THEIR BROTHER OWNS AND PICK UP A HIGH GRADE STEVE CARLTON FOR AROUND A $1000 OR YOU CAN OWN THIS TRUE RARITY. Check out the price stamps where it says, "$1.29" which only adds to the NOSTALGIC ASPECT OF THIS BOX!!!! At the Chicago National Convention a few years ago I had a 1978 Pete Rose complete box folded like this and I showed if off while waiting in line for Pete Rose to sign it and nothing but jaw dropping responses when other collectors saw it. Now where it really gets good, I walk up to the table to have Pete Rose sign it and his daughter (I believe it was his daughter) was like, "OH my gosh, Twinkies, I love it". Pete Rose was also excited to see it and I even joked that right now it is only worth $50,000, but after he signed it it would be worth $500,000, so he amusingly stood up and acted like he was stealing the box and walked about 10 feet behind the table like he was taking off. Anyways, the point is these boxes are likely one of the hidden gems in the collecting world and I state this after seeing responses like I mentioned above. YES, these unfolded complete boxes look much better than panels and individual Hostess cards, but when you fold these boxes back to their original form they become instant display pieces and put panels along with individual Hostess cards to shame. Just look at the pictures and see for yourself!!! Furthermore, just look at the nostalgic aspect of this box with the memories of seeing that Hostess box on the countertop back in the 1970's if you were indeed around back then. A TRUE rarity here and not some some grading bs where only 30 made the 10 grade, but yet 12000 still exist in other grades, but instead likely one of a few in existence regardless of grade. I have heavily watched complete boxes of Hostess on eBay over the past ten years and outside of a few collections that have been auctioned off complete boxes rarely come to market. A must for any hardcore Steve Carlton collector!!! The nostalgic aspect here doesn't getting any stronger and just the thought of Hostess products sitting on the counter back in the 70's was probably more nostalgic than opening that baseball card pack when we were kids. Undoubtedly, Hostess is a household brand which only adds to the luster of this ultra rare complete box.
