The carving was done by North Carolina carver, Chris Boone and his signature is on the bottom of the piece. The tail has been carved to expose the fantastic grain of the wood. This part is sanded smoothly which contrasts remarkable well with the rough texture of the body. The chest area is hand painted to resemble the feathers. The graceful neck of the preening goose has been stained with a transparent black finish that exposes hints on the grain beneath the wood. The underside of the goose is white and the signature of the artist and the number 13. A stunning piece of sculpture that is unique to Boone's work. 13" long x 5" wide x 8.5" high 100% of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to Samaritan's Purse.
