Description: EXCEPTIONAL LATE 19TH C PLAINS PAINTED PARFLECHE FRINGED CYLINDRICAL CONTAINER #0333Possibly an early parfleche HEADDRESS BONNET carrier with classic geometric patterns and beautiful full fringe at base. Colors include green, red, brown and yellow at bottom as background to tipi designs. There were 2 old paper items stuffed at the bottom of the container. One was an advertising booklet dated November 1930 and a balled-up brittle newspaper dated April 1929. Both will be included in sale. Measures approximately 5.5” D x 22.5” L with fringe an additional 22”. Circa 1890. Fresh to the market. Similar parfleche containers have sold for $6000.00+ at public auction.
