The Epiphone Kirk Hammett "Greeny" 1959 Les Paul Standard is the result of a close collaboration between Epiphone and Gibson Custom Shop. Inspired by Kirk Hammett's legendary original "Greeny," it features the same distinctive specs as the original. It is equipped with the same Gibson USA Greenybucker pickups as the USA-made model, but of course the neck pickup is inverted. The neck shape also features a Custom Greeny Profile, a reflector knob on the rear side, "Spade" button Grover pegs, and other features faithfully reproduced from the original. The headstock shape is also notable. Finally, Gibson's original "openbook" headstock was adopted for Epiphone's core models, and the Epiphone Kirk Hammett "Greeny" 1959 Les Paul Standard was the first model to adopt it.
