ENGLISH CAMEO VASE, APPLE BLOSSOM, BLUE ON CREAM, CLASSIC SHAPE~~~

Description: For auction is a lovely art glass cameo vase made during the Victorian era, most likely by Thomas Webb & Sons or Stevens and Williams. The vase measures 5 1/8" tall and the opening of the vase 1 3/4" wide at the outside diameter of the rim. The base of the vessel measures 2 1/4" in diameter. The vase depicts apple blossoms on branches in various states of bloom. These are leaf clusters with cut veins and unopened flower blossoms adorning this vase as well as full open face blooms. They are executed in a dark pastel blue set on an off white almost custard colored background. There are also two parallel horizontal lines accenting the top of the elongated neck on the vase. They are slightly lighter in color than the flowers and are a beautiful periwinkle blue. The execution of the design on this vase displays beautifully. The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a minute surface scratch on the rim which I am sure happened during the finishing. The piece is unsigned and displays a small polished pontil which is the sign of a quality piece of art glass. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 11.7% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 11.7%. This is an increase of 8.8% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 11.7% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
