Description: These 2 volumes were published for the author by Sherwood Gilbert and Piper. Internally Vol 1 is in very good condition with the exception of the title page which has foxing. None of the rest of this book has foxing. The rear cover is loose but completely intact. Vol 2 has some staining at the top of the early pages as you can see in the photographs. This does not interfere with the print and ends after approx. 40 pages and as there are approx. 600 pages to the book this is a minor defect. The front cover is loose from the binding but fully intact. These 2 volumes are bound in full leather. They are large and heavy books.
