One such new feature being the GPS capabilities and because it uses satellite GPS to track and display speed/distance instead of pressure tubes this speedometer can be used on ANY boat (it is a direct replacement for all Yamaha 6Y5 speedometers). Speed can be displayed in knots, miles per hour, and kilometers per hour while distance can be displayed in miles or kilometers. Having a GPS also gives it the ability to display the vessel's course over ground (COG). The fuel gauge function is programmed to work with fuel senders for US, European, and Yamaha tanks. Settings can easily be changed with the set and mode buttons (no need to get into dipswitches in the back). Emtac Speedometers are tested to meet the IP67 ingress protection standard, this means it can withstand submersion for 30 minutes at a depth of one meter.
