It is rechargeable and gives bioelectric massage/stimulation with 18 intensity ratings. Complete with the user booklet. My sister gave this to our elderly mother as a gift, but she never opened it or used it. However, I use a TENS unit for my arthritic knees and shoulders/back so I am familiar with how great electrostimulation helps bring circulation to places that hurt and also rechannel pain in my knees so I can do my daily 2-1/2-mile walk. I imagine this foot stimulator would be really nice for someone who has tired feet or wants improved circulation. It says it relaxes stiffness in muscles and relieves feet and leg pain. Never exposed to smoke, perfume, scent of any kind and as mentinoned, never used.
