Description: Up For Sale are on unused BB-490/u cases. The case has been carefully opened and the old Gel cells have been removed. There are to variations on the connector, some have an aluminum body and some plastic, all work the same. These batteries were made in 1991. so if you see any that are being sold as complete, the cells are probably shot. With no interior cutting there is a clear area of 3.87" wide x 3.25" high x 2.18 "depth. If you cut out the plastic fillers you can gain 1.4 " in height and 3/8 " in width. As shown in the last photo, as an example, using 18650 Li- Ion cells you can get 16 cells with out cutting any plastic, and looks like this would allow room for battery protection boards, which I recommend. This will give you two 15 volt batteries @ 4 amps depending of cell capacity, which come close to a 2590 battery on the cheap.
