The coffee can, hand painted with a portrait of Emperor Charles I of Austria, King of Hungary, Croatia and Bohemia 1916 – 1918, within an oval gilt beaded panel, with gilt scroll work. All on a claret ground.The saucer having gilt floral sprigs on a claret ground.Underglaze blue Beehive marks to both pieces.Height of can – 5.3 cm, 2 1/8”.Diameter of saucer – 12 cm, 4 3/4”.Condition – Glaze flaw to the underside of saucer, that does not penetrate the body.
