Description: WebVinyl Presents! Elkie Brooks “Rich Man’s Woman” Original 33-1/3 RPM Vinyl 12” 1975 First Press White Label Promo Vinyl Soul / AOR / Blues Rock LP! No Reserve! DESCRIPTION Elkie Brooks - “Rich Man’s Woman” A&M Records SP-4554 (Stereo) from 1975. Hard to find Original First Pressing White Label Promo Soul / AOR / Blues Rock Album from Elkie Brooks (Vinegar Joe) featuring backing by Steve Burgh, Bruce Foster, David Kemper and Dennis Kavarik plus David Paich (Toto), Max Bennett, John Guerin, Nino Tempo, Mike Boddicker, Ben Benay, Alan and Gene Estes, Clydie King, Verlene Rogers, Venetta Fields and more. Great AOR Rock with flavoirings of the Blues, Reggae, etc! On the White with Black Print A&M “Promotion Copy - Not For Sale" labels and in the Original Cover with no Barcode. This is a Monarch First Pressing as indicated by the Matrix / Runout Vinyl markings which read: Matrix / Runout (Runout A Side Etched): AM SP 4845-M1 Δ20137(2)Matrix / Runout (Runout B Side Etched): AM SP 4846-M1 Δ20137-x(2)Matrix / Runout (Runout Both Sides Stamped): MR in circle [Monarch Logo] CONDITION The Cover is in nice shape. There is some fairly slight shelf wear, edge creasing and corner softening/wear. There is a promo punch hole in the lower right corner and a “Promotional Copy” sticker in the lower left. Super solid with no writing, splits, stains, tears, etc. and would rate VG+ overall. The Vinyl is in pristine Glossy condition looking barely played and possibly even Unplayed. If you look closely you can spot a couple light scuffs but still very close to New condition and easily Near Mint - plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint too. The labels are also Near Mint. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
