Description: Vintage to Antique Oil on CanvasThis Elaborate Painting is " after " Girolamo Gianni , an artist from Naples , Italy , 1837 - 1895The Original Painting was painted on the Island of Capri , Italy Featuring the Roman RuinsThis is an Early Reproduction of his painting ,, " View from a Convent "I'm going to estimate the date of this painting between 1910 to 1930 This is one of 2 paintings that i have that came from the same estate ,,, The otherone is signed and dated 1913This one is unsigned ,,, Both paintings appear to be approximately around the same age judging fromthe paint condition and the aging of the backs of the framesBoth paintings have been cleaned and re varnished some years ago Removing the Old Varnish and refinishing the Painting was Expertly done and allows the true bright colors to show The cleaning didn't remove the signature of this painting ,,, a lot of Artist makingcopies of older masters didn't sign their works, So it just wasn't signed Size : Medium ,, The Canvas is 29 X 19 ,, The Frame is 35 X 24 1/2 Condition: Near Excellent for its ageThe Paint has Very , Very Minor loss ,, I'd rate the Condition at 98% When these 2 paintings was Restored they had both had paper dust backing covers applied I don't think Oil on Canvas should have later Dust Covers so i Removed the Dust cover ,, This also helped me Estimate the age of the paintingThe Dust cover appeared to have been glued on to the rear of the frame with Fish Glue.Once Removed the glue left an ugly mess ,, But was Easily Cleaned off with just waterRemoving the Glue did remove some of the old dark patina from the wood ,, More from the slick finished Frame than from the Stretcher Frame This painting has an additional backing board ,,, This is a 2 piece board installed to sitslightly behind the canvas ,,, The 2 pieces are held together with 2 older seals Marked " Member American Art Bureau "One of the seals was split allowing me to look inside at the rear of the canvasand Its in Great Condition ,,, I looked online but couldn't any info on the American Art Bureau so its been Defunct foryears or the name has been changed Housed in an Elaborate Copper Finished Painted FrameThe Frame is Near Excellent with some minor losses ,,, Nothing Distracting The pictures of the rear of the painting include pictures of just the canvas onthe stretcher and pictures of the stretcher installed into the frame The Painting has New Hanging Hardware and Z Fasteners Installed A Note on Shipping Cost :I have the Weights and Dimensions of the Box entered into Ebay to Estimate the Shipping Cost to Your Zip CodeI'm closer to the East Coast sometimes Shipping on Large Items to theWest Coast is ExpensiveThis Shipping Estimator can be Misleading and between Fed Ex and UPS ShippingCost can Vary a lot ,,, Sometimes on Large items as much as $75 to $100I think it depends on which shipper has a Distribution Center Nearest you So if your interested in the painting Email Me with Your Zip Codeand i'll get you an Accurate Shipping Price Thanks for Looking . .
