A small piece of guppy grass is included in the bag with the fish (CA residents excluded). Plant this in your tank and watch it grow! These fish love it. They do best if kept in tanks with clean water and live plants to give them hiding places and give the fry a better chance at survival. Unlike guppies its rare for them to eat their own young. Some of them are determinedly suicidal jumpers, so a cover on the tank is a must. Endler's are most often found in more stagnant waters, compared to other guppies who prefer faster waters. Endler's were named after John Endler, a Canadian biologist who re-discovered these fish in 1975 which at that time were considered to be extinct. Endler livebearers are very hardy and undemanding in the aquarium. They prefer hard, warm water, but they will do very well in soft water as well. The warmer the water, the faster they will grow: 27 °C (75-81 °F). This is slightly higher than their guppy cousins, which prefer 23?25 °C (73-77 °F).
