Description: Up for sale is a fantastic and very rare find, being a 1942 stated 1st limited edition of Edgar Cayce’s biography as co-written by Thomas Sugrue and signed on the limitation page by Cayce himself. There is absolutely no question as to authenticity. This copy is #252 of 300. “There is a River” tells the absolutely fascinating and heart-wrenching story of Cayce’s life as a devout Christian both seemingly blessed and cursed by a gift he himself could never quite explain… In his youth, he emotionally wrestled with his abilities as he felt they were in direct conflict with his Christian beliefs, but it is believed that after reading Psalms 46 – “"There is a river the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God." he ultimately accepted his talents as a gift from God and used them for good…. CONDITION: The book is in Very Good Condition in a Very Good Minus dust jacket. The jacket is price-clipped but there was no book club edition produced in this design so it is authentic. NOTE: It appears a former owner tried to “touch-up” the color on the top and bottom of jacket spine but they didn’t do a very good job. You can see this in my photo close ups #9 and #10. A little touch up paint bled through to the verso / blank side of the jacket at the top and bottom of the jacket spine as well and there are a couple pieces of tape on the underside - not visible of course. Aside from this repair job, there is only moderate perimeter wear to the rest of the jacket here and there. As for the book, there is minor handling wear to the covers and a couple former owners names on the first blank page as shown in photo #13.
